Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water systems, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has increased assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets struck the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were hurt.

The assaults come after periods of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and officials were bracing for further attacks.
